Mosman Community Grants: $70,000 allocated to local organisations. See the list.
By ANNA USHER
Almost $70,000 has been allocated to 21 local organisations through Mosman Council’s 2023/24 Community Grants Program.
A wide variety of local projects and initiatives will receive a total of $68,982 under the program, including dance and music groups, support for young people, community gardening, village events, plus upgraded facilities and equipment.
Among those to benefit are the Mosman Community Gardeners group, who will score $3,000 to replace rotting bed frames. The garden currently has more than 65 gardens beds and over 100 pots.
The Mosman Symphony Orchestra receives $4000 to rehearse and perform a series of eight concerts per year, with a deal also made to partner with Mosman Chorus for a Christmas Concert in December.
Local kids haven’t been forgotten either, with Mosman Girl Guides granted $4000 to upgrade their hall in Parriwi Park – and the 1st Clifton Gardens Sea Scouts receiving $4000 for urgent repairs needed to a boat trailer.
Middle Harbour Public School ($4,000) is planning an intergenerational concert with their neighbours at Manors of Mosman Retirement Village, and Mosman Prep School ($2,800) will create a greening and gardening project on the school’s balcony, growing food to share with the community and to add to the greening of the local area.
