Mosman Mayhem: Six girls arrested after allegedly stolen Porsche crashes in high-speed pursuit.

Mosman Collective has obtained exclusive footage of dramatic scenes on Spit Rd this morning, moments after a Porsche SUV allegedly stolen by six females and one male crashed during a high-speed police chase.

Scores of Northern Beaches Police Area Command cars surrounded the high-performance vehicle after it lost control on the s-bends heading city-bound towards Mosman.

Police were called to a home on Lalchere St in Curl Curl shortly before 4.40am following reports a Porsche SUV had been stolen.

Shortly after, police spotted the vehicle driving around Balgowlah. The vehicle failed to stop for police and a pursuit was initiated.

The pursuit continued for 10 minutes through Balgowlah Heights and Seaforth, before coming to an end when the car crashed on Spit Road.

Six girls and a boy, whose ages aren’t known but are believed to be minors, have been arrested and taken to Manly and Chatswood police stations.

An eyewitness, who supplied these images to Mosman Collective, said she heard the car “whizzing” around the s-bends before impact and feared the worst.

“I just happened to be awake and could hear the car screaming up Spit Hill,” she said, “the next thing I heard were sirens and when I looked out the window there were police everywhere.”

The woman said she was shocked to discover a group of young girls and a male exit the car, with police instructing them to “get down, get down”.

“I could not believe what I was seeing,” she said, “to think that a group of young girls who looked to be no older than 14 could be involved in something like this is terrifying.”

“It is absolute madness.”

The Porsche’s owner, George Miller told The Daily Telegraph his wife and child were asleep in their Curl Curl home when they awoke to the sound of people in their home.

Upon going downstairs, his wife found five teens inside the home. “I checked the bench where my keys were, my wallet and keys were gone.

“Five minutes later we heard the sound of the car starting. By the time I got down, they were doing a three point turn, very aggressively.

“They revved the car up and spun the wheels on the grass. So I called police,” Mr Miller said.

This morning, the youths remain at Manly and Chatswood police stations where they are being questioned by police.

Two south bound lanes on Spit Rd were closed until 7am and traffic has returned to normal.

Inquiries into the incidents are ongoing.

UPDATE 4PM: TWELVE YEAR OLD GIRL ONE OF SIX FEMALES CHARGED

Six girls have been charged following a pursuit with police in a stolen vehicle on the Northern Beaches overnight.

About 4:40am today (Friday 10 May 2024), officers attached to Northern Beaches Police Area Command were called to a home on Lalchere Street, Curl Curl, following reports of a break in.

Police were told a Porsche SUV had allegedly been stolen from the home.

A short time later, officers patrolling Balgowlah located the Porsche on Burnt Bridge Deviation at Manly Vale, and attempted to stop the vehicle.

When the Porsche failed to stop a pursuit was initiated with the SUV before the vehicle collided with a concrete barrier on Spit Road, Mosman.

The occupants were not injured and the driver, a 16-year-old boy, and six female passengers, aged between 12 and 16, were arrested.

They were taken to Manly and Chatswood Police Stations where they remain in custody.

The girls, aged 12, 15, 16 and three aged 14, were charged with be carried in conveyance without consent of owner and granted conditional bail to appear at children’s court on Wednesday 5 June 2024.

The teenage boy remains in custody as inquiries into the incident continue.

The teenage boy has now been charged with police pursuit, drive conveyance without consent of owner, drive never licensed, not stop at red light/stop sign, larceny, and breach of bail.

He was refused bail to appear at a children’s court tomorrow (Saturday 11 May 2024).

Two girls, aged 14 and 13, were released and will be dealt with under the Young Offenders Act.
