My Little Cupcake, the pastel-pink bakery famous for its colourful sweet treats and pretty window displays, has closed suddenly after more than two decades serving the community.
The iconic store, located at the bottom of Ben Boyd Rd, is the latest in a string of Neutral Bay exits, including Dymocks, Pearsons Jewellers, Merrigal Gifts, Ezzelinos Italian and a long standing “$2” discount store.

Open for 22 years, the little store was famous for its stunning window displays.
Owner Catherine Myers announced the news on Facebook, confirming the much-loved store front would not reopen in 2026.
“It has been a pleasure making cakes and cupcakes for you over the last 22 years,” she said.
“[We have reached] end of our lease, the building is being sold and [I have] early 2026 ankle replacement surgery.”
“This has brought the idea of early retirement to a head. We will miss you!”

In recent days, scores of locals have flooded social media with farewell messages and memories.

High Tea for adults and children was a popular experience at the store.
In recent days, customers have flooded social media with farewell messages, many sharing memories of what bone described as a “little suburban haven of joy”.
“Four generations of my family have enjoyed your cupcakes and cakes. The very best in Sydney,” one resident said, “It’s so sad when something this special is not passed onto others to continue. You will be missed.”

The pretty cupcakes – all of them home made – have been described by many as “the best in Sydney”.
Another wrote: “You were the First Birthday cupcake for each of our three children, topped with a small animal. Our kids are now 19, 16, and 12. There were other cupcakes over the years, but those Firsts were special – Thank you.”
“OMG this is so sad, you had the best cupcakes in Australia,” said another.
Property records show the shop’s 330sqm land holding was last valued at $1.95 million and is zoned low density residential. No sale has yet been listed.
