The North Sydney Community Centre wakes up for winter this week.
Term three starts this coming Saturday, kids’ programs are back, and there is a spot in almost everything if you book now. Here’s what is on at 220 Miller St over the next fortnight.
Northside Produce Market is on this Saturday 18 July. Arrive early to score the best fruit, vegetables and treats.
Northside Produce Market
Seventy-plus stalls of local food, coffee and cut flowers to start your weekend. Warm up with Nonie’s gluten-free bakery or a smoked ham hock and pea soup.

Pottery for Beginners
New tutor Sherelyn Cullen opens her wheel to first-timers. Slip casting, hand building and a term of getting your hands dirty.

Curry and Carry: Cook Now, Eat Later
A Sunday class that sends you home with dinner already made. Learn a curry, pack it up, eat it later in the week.

Monday Night Choir with Bec Waters
No auditions, no experience needed, just a room full of people singing. New tutor Bec Waters takes the baton this term.

Explorers Playgroup
The under-fives are back. Cosy winter play, a 10.30am storytime and sing-along, and a Christmas in July theme to kick things off.

Interior Design Fundamentals
Nine weeks with tutor Kerry Selby Brown on colour, layout and the small choices that make a room work.
Starts Friday 24 July, 10am to 12.30pm. $485.
Friday Mahjong
A nine-week course for new players and anyone who wants to sharpen up, tiles and all.

Sweet or savoury, jam or cream first. A hands-on afternoon in the Centre’s kitchen, with recipes to take home.

After School Care runs Monday to Friday, 3pm to 6pm, for five to 12 year olds. Languages are back too, with Italian, French, Spanish, Japanese, Greek and German classes across the week. Plus yoga, Zumba, tai chi, line dancing and more.
