Funding Boost: Local organisations to receive vital new equipment.

Money for new boating gear, solar panels, acoustic insulation and school band instruments are just some of the items to make the list in this year’s community funding.

Member for North Shore Felicity Wilson said the State Government cash will deliver much-needed improvements to local facilities including upgrades to buildings inside and out, providing play and fitness equipment, and delivering new supplies to sports and music organisations.

“This is fantastic news for our community with funding helping local organisations from school and educational institutions to sporting clubs, musical groups, and religious organisations,” Ms Wilson said.

“This grassroots funding will directly help create a more vibrant and inclusive local community by focusing on positive social, environmental, and recreational outcomes.

“I congratulate all the organisations that were successful in their application and look forward to seeing how these projects make a real difference for our community groups.”

The full list of successful projects in the local community for 2021 are: 

• Upgrading the teaching laboratory at the Mosman-based Sydney Institute of Marine Science
• Beauty Point Public School’s P&C will install acoustic insulation in the school hall
• The purchase of a new OC6 outrigger canoe for Northern Beaches Outrigger Canoe Club at The Spit
• Installing new solar panels at Mosman Rowers Club
• Constructing a court boundary at Mosman Croquet Club
• Installing a new fitness station at Anderson Park with the Rotary Club of North Sydney Sunrise and North Sydney Council
• Sydney City Brass, which rehearses at Mosman Club, will purchase percussion instruments and instrument mutes for performances
• Purchasing a new rescue boat for Middle Harbour 16’ Skiff Sailing Club
• Replacing the fixed wooden seating in the Cremorne Synagogue with new upholstered benches
• Installing play equipment at Scots Kirk Mosman for children up to 12 years old
• Repairing the roof, downpipes, and guttering of St Luke’s Anglican Church
• Purchasing a new scrum machine for Northern Suburbs Rugby Union
• Refurbishing the community room at Link Wentworth Housing’s residence in Wollstonecraft.

The Community Building Partnership program has funded more than 16,000 community projects since it commenced in 2009.

In 2022, there is $400,000 to allocate in each electorate. Applications for the 2022 Program open early next year.
