Residents are again being urged to ramp up home security after two homes on Esther Rd were targeted by thieves over the weekend.

Marjorie Conway and her three children were asleep when offenders broke into her residence around 4:20am on Sunday morning and stole the keys to her luxury car, which was parked on the street.

Minutes later, the neighbouring property was also broken into, but it is believed the intruders were disturbed by the home owner.

Speaking to Mosman Collective, Marjorie said access to her home was through a downstairs window that was locked “but not dead locked”.

“I am vigilant with security and had no idea we had been broken into until 10am on Sunday morning,” she said.

“The neighbours came over to tell me they had disturbed a thief inside their house, and when I looked for my car keys, I discovered they were not where I had left them.”

Marjorie wants to remind the community to lock their homes securely. “I didn’t think this would ever happen to me,” she said.

Upon checking the street, Marjorie discovered her 2023 model Porsche Cayenne was missing.

“To think someone has broken into my home while my children and I slept is terrifying,” she said.

“I didn’t ever think something like this would happen to me, and I think residents should be warned to lock up their homes at all times.”

Police attached to North Shore Police Area Command have commenced an investigation. As inquiries continue, anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
