Property News: This Raglan St home sold in four days – for more than $20 million!
By ANNA USHER
It took just four days for “Boondabah”, one of Mosman’s grand Federation estates to change hands, with a mystery buyer paying more than $1 million over the price estimate.
Agent Erik Stoneberg from Forsyth Willoughby told Mosman Collective the lavish five-bedroom home at 200a Raglan St was snapped up after just one inspection.
“The property was launched on Wednesday 9 March, and we were immediately inundated with enquiries,” he said.
“It’s a trophy home on 2,066 sqm with dual street frontages and resort style living, so it ticked a lot of boxes for ultra-prestige buyers.
“As far as Mosman properties go, this one is a jewel in the crown.”
Called “Boondabah” and built in 1905, the heritage home is blessed with a north-east aspect and commanding views over the harbour to Manly, North Head and beyond.
Bound by confidentiality, Mr Stoneberg could not reveal the price, but it’s believed the vendor accepted north of $20 million for the property.
“I can’t disclose any information about the buyer or the price, but I can tell you the home is a premium property that sold in lightning quick time,” Mr Stoneberg said.
“There is a shortage of ultra-prestige homes for sale on the lower north shore and when the right opportunity comes up, buyers are ready to jump.
“200a Raglan St has achieved a great result for the vendor.”
Price Finder data shows the property sold in 1997 for $2.3 million, and then again in 2016 for $10.1 million.
