Speed eating comes to Neutral Bay with a fiery taco showdown this May.

The bizarre world of competitive eating is about to land in Neutral Bay with a fierce culinary contest taking place on May 22.

As part of a month-long Mexican fiesta, SoCal is hosting a one-off Taco Eating Competition, where hungry hopefuls will battle it out for the chance to win big prizes.

A highlight of the venue’s Taco and Tequila Fiesta 2025, the event is a three heat race to see who can finish 10 tacos the fastest. It’s $30 entry, which also gets you a Tommy’s margarita on arrival, with the speediest eater crowned winner at the end.

Running from Saturday, May 3 to Saturday, May 31, the Fiesta will feature weekly specials, like Taco Tuesdays ($4 tacos and $15 margaritas), Wing Wednesdays ($10 for six wings) and Bottomless Fajita Fridays ($35 for bottomless fajitas).

Mondays in May are Family Fiesta specials, which give kids free cheese quesadillas with an adult purchase. And on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, you can order a bottomless lunch or dinner package for only $99.

Thursday May 15 will see another eating competition, this time with Chillis.

“From mild jalapeños to fiery Carolina Reapers, the spice levels are reaching new heights, and the flames are ready to be unleashed,” a SoCal spokesperson said.

“Reigning champs, newbies and secret fire dragons will have the opportunity to win a trophy and bragging rights, with SoCal vouchers, merch and more up for grabs.”
