Want to know what’s on in the lead up to Christmas? – We’ve got you covered!

With Christmas just around the corner, here’s an update of what’s on and what’s happening on the lower north shore. Are you ready for Santa?

Are Christmas trees available to purchase?

Yes! There are a number of locations now selling live, choose-your-own Christmas Trees ranging in price from $70 to $200.

  • Metro Service Station, Spofforth St.
  • Fourth Village Providore, Vista St.
  • Harris Farm, Bridgepoint Shopping Centre.

Live Christmas trees are available at a number of locations from today, December 1.

Where can I see Santa?

The jolly red man is ready and waiting to see the kids! He’s also being kept busy this year, with several local appearances.

Bring your phone or camera and take a FREE photo upstairs at Bridgepoint from Monday 13 December through to Christmas Eve. Santa also has a special post box, but you’ll need to pop your wish list in before Sunday 19 December.

Over at The Buena, Santa will pop in to see the kids from 5pm on Monday 13 December – and he’s also arranged some festive cocktails for Mum and Dad! Kids eat FREE but you’ll need to book.

The Buena has a number of Christmas events happening for kids and adults.

How about Christmas Carols?

Covid restrictions mean Carols at the Rotunda WILL NOT be on this year, but St Clements has arranged the next best thing. Book online here, grab your crew and warm up the pipes for CAROLS and CURRY (for real!!) from 5:30pm on Sunday 19 December. Sounds pretty good to us!

The Bridgepoint Carol Singers (who knew?!) will also be performing on Thursday 23 December from 11am – 2pm.

Do you know if Mosman’s amazing annual light show is on?

Unfortunately, Covid restrictions have put the kibosh on the Prince Albert St Christmas Lights event for the second year running, but a number of houses still intend to put their lights up for the kids to enjoy.

Spofforth St Christmas lights (across from the shops) are also a no-go this year.

In Mosman, you simply can’t afford to miss the dazzling display on the corner of Magic Grove and Sirius Cove Rd, put on each year by residents Caroline and John. Gigantic inflatables for 2021 include a Reindeer, Elves and Santa, along with their spectacular light show. Don’t forget to bring a donation for the Sydney Children’s Hospital – or pop a few bucks via the online link, here.

The Prince Albert St Christmas Lights Party is OFF for the second year running, but a number of houses still plan to put on a light show.

Do dogs celebrate Christmas in Mosman?

Short answer. Yes! Mosman’s annual Rawson Park Christmas Pooch Party happens on Saturday 18 December at 3pm. All welcome! Please bring a plate and don’t forget there are prizes for the Best Dressed Dog! A little birdie told us Santa may also make an appearance.

Are ther any other events I need to know about?

The Buena will host a “Locals Only” knees up on Thursday 9 December from 5pm. Complimentary snacks, lucky door prizes, Chrissy cocktails and an entertainment “Surprise Guest” awaits.

Little kids might enjoy Christmas Story Time in the Park at North Sydney on Monday 13 December. The event is being held right next to Stanton Library from 9:30am and will feature songs, stories, and craft activities.

The Rotary Club will be wrapping your Christmas gifts at Bridgepoint from Friday 17 December until Christmas Eve. All you need to do is bring a gold coin donation for each item.
