Rock icons Bono and Noel Gallagher quietly slipped into Mosman on Sunday to enjoy a low-key lunch following their sell-out Sydney shows.

The U2 front man arrived at Balmoral’s popular Boathouse café with family members at around 2pm, accompanied by former Oasis lead guitarist and songwriter Noel Gallagher.

A number of bodyguards were also present.

The visiting superstars managed to out-fox paparazzi and a legion of fans, arriving on a discreet luxury charter – MV Zephyr – that operates out of Pittwater.

Built in 1965, the 60ft timber cruiser can carry 30 passengers and boasts a stunning fit-out, featuring bespoke floral installations and furniture to suit individual clients. Sydney Harbour boat tours start at $2,600, for a minimum four hours.

Marcel Dupont-Louis, owner of Zephyr Charters has confirmed that Bono and Gallagher were on board his vessel but declined to comment any further.

“We pride ourselves in providing a discreet service for our customers, whomever they may be,” he said.

“All I will say is that our guests enjoyed a beautiful day on Sydney Harbour.”

Bono and Gallagher are the latest in a long line of international celebrities to visit Mosman, including Nigella Lawson, Jamie Oliver, Justin Bieber, David and Victoria Beckham and Kate Hudson.

A Balmoral Boatshed worker, who refused to be named, told Mosman Collective that staff had been “sworn to secrecy”, prior to the arrival of Rock Royalty.

“When the charter arrived at Balmoral, we sent a tender out to help them tie up – and the boys freaked out when they saw Bono and Noel Gallagher come out to say hi,” the worker revealed.

“There was heaps of security and we weren’t allowed to take any photos with our phone.

Bono and his group dined on Seafood Platters.

“I’m glad they were able to have a relaxing day; Bono enjoyed being with his family and Noel,” the worker said, “they were very low key and seemed very normal.”

Boatshed staff prepared and served a number of Seafood Platters, washed down with Bloody Mary’s, before the large group left Balmoral around 5pm.

U2 play the final show of their Joshua Tree tour in Perth on November 27.
