Festive Fun: The essential Mosman Collective Christmas activity list – with something for everyone!

Christmas is officially on the way and a truck load of festive fun is about to sweep through the suburbs of Mosman, Cremorne, Neutral Bay, North Sydney and surrounds.
From night markets, craft extravaganzas, community kid’s parties and immersive experiences, there is no better time to be on the lower north shore than Christmas.
Check out some of our favourite ways to make the most of this festive season.
Christmas Wreath Workshop, Sat 25 November.
This beautiful Australian-Inspired Christmas Wreath Workshop will involve learning how to design and construct your very own Christmas wreath using Australian foliage and preserved flowers.
Everything will be provided for in this workshop – floristry scissors, wreath base, wires, foliage, dried preserved flowers, craft ribbons and gift paper.
Students will be shown step-by-step instructions, by a florist, of how to design and wire clusters of material onto their wreath.
Participants will receive a 30cm diameter wreath to work on and a bonus 20cm wreath.

Gingerbread House Making, Wed 22 November.
Head to Mosman Village Church on Wednesday November 22 for a night of creativity and community at a special ladies’ Gingerbread House Making Night.
This event is open to all women in our community, whether you are a church-goer or notor not. Gather your friends, sisters, neighbours and anyone who enjoys some holiday fun, for an evening filled with laughter, joy and a touch of sugary delight (kits original and gluten-free).

Ceramic Ornament Making, Sat 25 November.
Learn how to make ceramic Christmas ornaments with your friends, family or work colleagues at the Makers Loft in Cammeray. Available for Group booking.
If you’re looking for a fun activity to do with your kids or friends, this pottery class is for you. All materials and tools are provided, so you don’t have to worry about bringing anything other than yourself! After the class, your hand-built pottery will be fired in a kiln, which makes it stronger and gives it a nice finish.

Mosman Rowers Kids Party, Sunday 3 December.
Members and their children are invited to head to the cafe on Sunday, December 3rd, starting at 4:00 PM, for an afternoon of pure joy for the whole family.
There will be a special guest appearance from Santa Claus, balloon artists and photo opportunities with the jolly red guy. Sign up below to ensure an age-appropriate gift.

Mosman Symphony Christmas Concert, Sun 3 December
The Mosman Symphony Orchestra and Choir present their 2023 Christmas Concert. Featuring Prokofiev’s beloved Peter and the Wolf complete with narration (bring the kids for $5 each!) and sing along with the Choir as they perform a selection of Christmas songs and carols.

Kirribilli Kids Christmas Party, Wed 6 December
The annual Kirribilli Community Centre Kids Christmas Party is always popular. Celebrate the start of the festive season with fun activities, food and more.

Christmas Night Market, Thur 7 December
Mosman’s popular festive market gets everyone into the spirit, with homewares, jewellery, clothing, textiles, ceramics, Fair Trade and eco products as well as Christmas-themed food and drink.
Take the kids to Mosman village green from 4:30pm, listen to the live music and shop for some unique gifts under the fairy lights.

Love Actually Christmas Concert, Fri 8 December
Head to the Orpheum for a special 20th Anniversary Screening of the ultimate Christmas Rom-Com classic LOVE ACTUALLY. Plus pre-show concert from multi-award winning a cappella vocal group SOULFOOD, who will be playing a variety of Christmas favourites before the movie. All tickets include a glass of sparkling wine on arrival.

Christmas Origami, Saturday 9 December

Can you hear those sleigh bells jingling?
Rumour has it that Santa Claus is coming to THE BUENA on the 11th of December from 5-7pm, to pay a special visit to all the Mosman kiddies on the good list this year!

Set in the idyllic grounds of Taronga Zoo with magical views across Sydney Harbour, this family friendly event is the perfect way to celebrate Christmas and enjoy a spectacular summer night of entertainment featuring a special guest all the way from the North Pole!
Bring along your own picnic or choose from a variety of food and drink available on-site.
Tickets are just $29 for adults and $24 for children aged 4-15, with children under four FREE! Gates open at 6pm with the concert running from 7pm-8.30pm.

Is Home Alone the best Chrissy movie of all time? We think so, especially when you can watch it on a big, outdoor screen! The Sunset Cinema is one of our favourite summer things to do, and North Sydney Oval is the perfect location. Home Alone is one of several festive flicks to be shown in December, along with Elf, The Holiday, Trolls and Wonka.
