One of Australia’s most recognised organic retailers is opening on the lower north shore later this month, with Flannery’s Organic Wholefood Market set to welcome its first Neutral Bay customers from Friday 19 June.
The new store – at Shop 15, Theo’s Arcade on Military Rd (the old Vintage Cellars) – will stock certified organic wholefoods, bulk pantry staples, vitamins, supplements and natural health products.

The new store will stock certified organic wholefoods, bulk pantry staples, vitamins, supplements and natural health products.
It will also include Flannerys’ in-store naturopath service, where qualified naturopaths are available for free wellbeing consultations. Private clinic appointments are also on offer.
Flannery’s CEO Fergus Collins said Neutral Bay suited the brand’s growing Sydney footprint.
“Flannery’s fits into places where people are already thinking carefully about what they bring into their homes and how it supports the way they want to live,” Collins said.
“Neutral Bay is the perfect place for this, with growing demand for wellness products, quality food options and trusted guidance that supports healthier lifestyles.

The Neutral Bay store will open at 9am on Friday 19 June.
“Having qualified naturopaths available in store has always been an important part of the Flannery’s experience and something that continues to resonate strongly with our customers.”
Fifty years from bulk bins to Military Road
Flannery’s began as Mrs Flannery’s – a modest local store offering bulk wholefoods, fresh produce and natural supplements built on the belief that food is medicine.
The Flannery family sold the franchise in 2008. The brand is now operated by The Natural Grocery Company, which also runs Fundies Wholefood Market and Kunara Organic Marketplace.
In 2024 the business marked 50 years in operation.

The store will feature a naturopath service, where qualified practicioners are available for free wellbeing consultations.
The Neutral Bay opening follows a recently refurbished Mona Vale store that Collins says has bolstered confidence in Sydney’s appetite for organic retail.
“The response we have seen in Mona Vale has given us great confidence in Sydney and reinforced that there is a strong appetite for what Flannery’s offers,” he said.
“As the Neutral Bay area continues to evolve, so too does the expectation for spaces and services that support a more health-conscious way of living.
“We look forward to becoming part of the community and providing an offering that makes everyday wellness easy and accessible.”
Flannery’s currently operates eight Queensland stores across Benowa, Chermside, Maroochydore, Paddington, Miami, Robina, Tewantin and Victoria Point, with
New South Wales stores in Mona Vale and Murwillumbah.
The Neutral Bay store opens at 9am on Friday 19 June.
