A 50-year-old man has been refused bail after he was charged over the alleged sexual assault of a 17-year-old girl travelling in a rideshare vehicle in North Sydney.
The man appeared before the Local Court Bail Division on Thursday afternoon.
Bail was refused.

Police allege the assault happened about 7.30am on Tuesday (2 June), when officers were called to Carlow Street, North Sydney.
Police allege the assault happened about 7.30am on Tuesday (2 June), when officers were called to Carlow Street, North Sydney, following reports a 17-year-old girl had been sexually assaulted while travelling in a rideshare vehicle in the North Sydney area.
Officers from North Shore Police Area Command established a crime scene and launched an investigation.
After what police described as extensive inquiries, detectives arrested a 50-year-old man at Mascot about 6.30pm on Wednesday (3 June).

He was taken to Surry Hills Police Station, where he was charged with enter, take or detain a person with intent to obtain advantage cause actual bodily harm, and aggravated sexual assault – deprive liberty.
The matter was adjourned to Downing Centre Local Court on June 30.
