Who’s egg-cited for Easter? School holidays are underway and Aussie families are marking the first year without Covid induced travel bans and restrictions. If you need to stock up on supplies or find an early morning coffee – here’s your essential guide to what’s open on the lower north shore this long weekend.

What are the Easter dates for 2022?

Good Friday: April 15, 2022
Easter Saturday: April 16, 2022
Easter Sunday: April 17, 2022
Easter Monday: April 18, 2022.

GOOD FRIDAY SHOPPING HOURS.

Good Friday is a national public holiday which means restricted trading hours apply.

Supermarkets including Coles, Woolworths, and ALDI will be closed on Good Friday nationwide.
Independent stores and shops in shopping centres will also be shut in most states and territories.
Most IGA stores are open over the entire Easter long weekend as normal days.

Bottle shops like BWS, Dan Murphy’s and Vintage Cellars are CLOSED on Good Friday. Make sure you stock up prior to Thursday evening (April 14).

EASTER SATURDAY SHOPPING HOURS.

Saturday is NOT a national public holiday. Most retailers and shops will trade as normal from 9am until 5pm.

Most Woolies and Coles stores will be open in all states as normal from 7am until 9pm or 10pm.
ALDI stores will be open from 9am until 7pm in NSW.
Restaurants, cafes and food outlets will also trade as normal on Saturday.

Many bottle shops will NOT be open on Good Friday.

EASTER SUNDAY SHOPPING HOURS.

Easter Sunday is a public holiday. Major supermarkets will be open if you need to grab last-minute Easter eggs but it’s best to check your local store for details.

Woolworths stores in NSW: 9am-6pm
Coles stores in NSW: 7am-10pm
Aldi stores in NSW: 8:30am-7pm

Avenue Rd cafe will be closed on Easter Saturday and Easter Sunday.

Easter Monday is also a public holiday, but most retail shops will operate with reduced trading hours.
