Snag a democracy sausage after voting in the local government elections this weekend.

By ANNA USHER

It’s local government election weekend and if there’s one thing we can all agree on it’s our right to eat a democracy sausage after casting our vote.

On the lower north shore, there are plenty of polling sites hosting cake stalls, coffee carts and BBQ breakfasts. Mosman Collective has done the hard yards and come up with a location list for hungry voters searching for a fund-raising feed on Saturday morning.

Schools, churches and community halls in Mosman and North Sydney LGA’s are hosting fundraisers on election day.

Mosman Public School
27 Belmont Rd, Mosman.
The P+C has come up with a clever menu for locals heading to the MPS campus on election day. Top picks are the classic “Ballot Banger” ($4.50), “Oh So Close” Oat Slice ($1) and “Pipped at the Post” juice poppers ($2.50).

Cammeray Public School
Palmer St, Cammeray.
Cammeray Public School P+C will host a special BBQ and Bake Sale to raise money for a new playground. Sausage Sizzle ($3.00), Bacon and Egg Roll ($5.00) plus home-made cakes and slices at various prices. There’s even a Second Hand Uniform Stall happening on the day. If you’d like to make a playground donation head here.

Middle Harbour Public School
MacPherson St, Mosman.
Over at Middle Harbour Public School, the P+C will be firing up the BBQ and serving Democracy Sausage sandwiches ($5.00), Bacon and Egg Rolls ($5.00) and home made treats ranging from $2.00 – $5.00.

Mosman Village Church
Raglan St, Mosman.
Mosman Village Church will be serving coffee ($3.00) and Sausage Sandwiches ($5.00) with all proceeds going to the Anglican Aid “Forced to Flee” Emergency Appeal, which provides aid to families displaced by conflict in Africa.

Home made treats and baked goods will keep the crowds happy this Saturday.
