Postal vote applications are now open for residents unable to vote in person at the upcoming local council elections on Saturday 14 September.

Acting NSW Electoral Commissioner Dr Matthew Phillips has told Mosman Collective that eligible postal voters in North Sydney and Mosman LGAs should apply as early as possible for their postal voting pack (you’ll find the link at the bottom of this story).

Can’t vote on the day? Postal voting is open now.

“Applications opened on Tuesday, 6 August, and we’ll start sending out postal voting packs from Monday, 19 August after all candidates are confirmed and ballot papers can start to be printed,” he said.

“The most efficient way to apply for a postal voting pack is online through the NSW Electoral Commission website. Applying through third parties can result in significant delays.”

Dr Phillips said people who can’t vote in person on election day will have the option attending a pre-poll venue one week before the Mayoral contest.

In Mosman, you’ll find one pre-polling site at the Allan Border Pavilion, open from Sat 7 Sep.
