With the State election fast approaching, volunteers are working hard behind the scenes to ensure our local schools are ready to play their part on the big day.

School Parents and Citizens’ Associations (P&Cs) across the lower north shore will be operating barbecues, cake stalls and more next Saturday 25 March to raise funds for their student communities.

Schools across the lower north shore will be holding Cake Stalls to raise money for supplies and equipment.

Mosman Public School P + C Vice President (Events), Ann-Marie Gibson said she is excited to welcome voters onto school grounds to enjoy Democracy Sausages and home-made cakes.

“We’ve gone hard with the sausage ordering this year so there’s no chance of running out,” she told Mosman Collective, “The P and C has ordered 600 sausages and the BBQ will be fired up from 8am.”

Election day snags will be $4 and include onions, a range of sauces plus a gluten free bread option.

Mosman Public School will hold a Sausage Sizzle and Cake Stall from 8am on Election Day.

A bumper cake stall with a range of home-made sweet treats is also planned, with all proceeds going to children’s mental health charity Be Centre.

“There will also be a range of cold drinks including juices, water and soft drinks available,” Ms Gibson said.

“And we have the facility to take either cash or card on the day.”

Middle Harbour Public School will have a Sausage Sizzle and Cake Stall from 8am.

Beauty Point Public School P and C Secretary Jen Pole said funds raised at their election day Sausage Sizzle will go towards a new bike shed for students.

“We are very proud of our beautiful little school and can’t wait to welcome local voters on 25 March,” she told Mosman Collective.

“Money from our BBQ is going to help with the construction of a much-needed bike shed for our students.”

BBQ funds from Beauty Point Public School’s Election Day stall will go towards a new bike shed for students.

Ms Pole said the school will offer a $5 Meal Deal, which includes a free-range sausage sandwich and a drink.

“We’ve ordered 400 snags and encourage everyone to vote early and enjoy breakfast at Beauty Point Public School.”

Whether you prefer your sausage laid horizontally or diagonally, onion on the top or bottom, it is a great way to support your local public school this NSW State Election Day.

Local school BBQ’s will be serving up Democracy Sausages from 8am on Election Day.
