Things are heating up ahead of this year’s Federal Election, with the ALP seeking a second term, and the Liberal Party hoping to keep Anthony Albanese as a one-term prime minister.
Mosman Collective has broken down your pressing election questions in this easy-to-digest explainer ahead of polling day.

Early and pre-poll voting will commence from Tuesday, April 22.
When is the Australian election 2025?
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has called the next Australian federal election for Saturday, May 3.
Do you have to vote?
Anyone who is an Australian citizen, aged 18 and over, must vote in the election.
How do I enrol?
All Australians over the age of 18 must be enrolled to vote. You can check your enrolment HERE. If you’ve just turned 18 or moved since the 2022 election, you’ll need to have already enrolled (closing date was 8pm on April 7). Failure to vote will result in a $20 fine.

Which electorate am I in?
To find out your electorate, simply enter your address on the AEC website HERE.
Where do I vote on polling day?
On election day, Warringah and Bradfield voters will head to local polling booths at churches, schools, community halls and public buildings. Locations are available via the Australian Electoral Commission’s “Where can I vote” page, with polling stations open from 8am to 6pm.
Can I vote early?
Early voting lets you cast your ballot in person at an early voting centre. These booths will open on Tuesday 22 April. Specific locations of early voting centres across NSW are listed on the Australian Electoral Commission’s “Where can I vote” page.

Polling booths open at 8am and close at 6pm on May 3.
How can I vote if I’m away on election day?
If you are not able to head to a polling place in your electorate on May 3 you still need to vote.
Early voting centres will open from Tuesday, 22 April. Lower north shore locations and addresses are available HERE.
What about postal voting?
You may also be eligible to apply for a postal vote, which means your ballot papers will be sent to you in the mail. You can apply for a postal vote now via the AEC.
