Andrew “Twiggy” Forrest’s Superyacht “Pangaea” spotted in Mosman – and we’re going to need a bigger boat!

Published On: November 5, 2020

What is Twiggy Forrest’s superyacht doing in Mosman?

That’s the question we’re asking today, after eagle-eyed residents noticed the luxury 60 metre beast anchored off Bradleys Head on Tuesday.

Called “Pangaea” and built in 1999 by US shipyard Halter Marine, the almighty expedition yacht arrived in Sydney Harbour over the weekend and has been seen bobbing around the sparkling waters off Taylors Bay and Whiting Beach.

There has been no sign of Mr. Forrest, the second richest person in Australia, who operates ‘Pangaea’ for marine research as part of his Minderoo Foundation.

With a beam of 11 metres, the vessel sails under the Jamaican flag and is registered to the port of Montego Bay.

Guests of Mr. Forrest can spread themselves over the yacht’s five decks, and 7000sqm of internal living space that rivals any world class hotel.

Six luxury suites, each named after a different continent, boast walk-in wardrobes, flat screen TV’s and ensuites with marble baths.

The Master bedroom is located on its own private deck.

With a cruising speed of 11 knots (thanks to its twin 1000 horsepower diesel engines), ‘Pangaea’ is described as a “go-anywhere, do-anything” class of explorer yacht, on the Charter World website.

A fully equipped gymnasium, with exercise bikes, elliptical machine, spa, steam room, aerobics and weight stations are also made fully available to guests during a stay on board ‘Pangaea’.

“Wherever you are aboard this stately ship, you are guaranteed to enjoy your voyage – and with 12 crew to cater to your every need you will return to home base feeling pampered and refreshed.”
