A 45-year-old learner driver has been busted with Heroin and Meth after a police pursuit.

North Shore Highway Patrol officers have charged a 45-year-old learner driver with numerous offences following a dangerous long weekend pursuit.
At 9:20pm on Saturday 19 April, Police were conducting stationary drug and alcohol testing on Willoughby Road at Crows Nest.

Highway Patrol officers allegedly located 33.34 grams of Methylamphetamine and 0.57 grams of Heroin.
They tell Mosman Collective a white Hyundai instigated a u-turn before reaching the testing site and accelerated harshly in a southerly direction onto the Warringah Fwy at North Sydney.
It is alleged the man then turned off his headlights while driving.
“Police attempted to stop the vehicle, and a pursuit was commenced over the Sydney Harbour Bridge,” a spokesperson said.
“It continued onto the Western Distributor towards Darling Harbour before it came to a stop behind traffic on Harris Street.”

The driver was arrested and tested positive to Meth. He will appear in court on April 29.

The male was arrested and returned a positive oral fluid test to Methylamphetamine.
Inside the vehicle Police located 33.34 grams of Methylamphetamine and 0.57 grams of Heroin.
He was conveyed to Chatswood Police Station and charged with:
- Police pursuit – not stop – drive dangerously prior offence
- Drive motor vehicle with illicit drug present in blood prior offence
- Supply prohibited drug – T1 - Possess prohibited drug x2
- Learner not accompanied by licensed driver
- Learner not display L plates
- Drive across dividing lines to do u-turn
- Drive in dark with no lights
The man’s licence was suspended and he was refused bail to appear before Downing Centre Local Court on April 29.
