Balmoral’s vinyl bar and bistro “Analog” closes its doors after just 12 months.

Shock Closure: Analog, the popular vinyl bar and bistro at Balmoral, has closed suddenly.

Balmoral Beach’s popular wine bar, Analog, has sadly closed its doors after less than a year of operation.
The venue, which fast became a local favourite after its launch in August 2024, today announced its sudden closure with a statement issued to Mosman Collective from owner Phil Squance.

The restaurant was well patronised, with a legion of local vinyl lovers regularly flocking to the upmarket space.
In an emotional farewell Mr Squance expressed his gratitude to the community for their “unwavering” support throughout his short-lived – but memorable – hospitality journey.
“Thank you for all your support, it’s truly been pleasure the past year and I look forward to seeing you on the other side of a bar,” he said.
A unique beachside bistro, inspired by Japanese listening bars, Analog was warmly received by LP loving locals who flocked to its Awaba St location for classic cocktails, high fidelity sounds and a stunning menu crafted by ex-Nobu chef, Jin Huang.

The Japanese and French inspired menu was a hit.

Analog’s kitchen was helmed by a former Nobu chef, Jin Huang.
But despite its high hopes, the challenges of juggling his family and a burgeoning business proved too great, Mr Squance said.
He is offering the business for sale, with all equipment and fittings, for $250,000.
If you are interested in purchasing Analog, enquiries can be sent to [email protected] before June 23rd.
