There’s a new fish shop coming to town – and hopefully this one will stick around for a while!

This Saturday 23 August, Gold Snapper Seafood will throw open the doors at 904 Military Rd, hoping to reel in hungry locals looking for a reliable, fuss-free fish and chip fix.

Owner Sudhir Sehgal says locals can look forward to “old fashioned Fish & Chips” at 904 Military Rd, Mosman.

The site, once home to the legendary Blue Dolphin, has seen more reinventions than a Bondi brunch menu in recent years – but Gold Snapper is already making waves, thanks to its community-first approach and simple promise: fresh seafood, done right.

Owned and operated by Sudhir Sehgal, Gold Snapper Mosman will be his fourth location, with outlets already established in the Sydney suburbs of Glenmore Park, Menai and Gregory Hills.

The store has a long local history as a seafood store and was once the site of Mosman’s legendary “Blue Dolphin” takeaway.

“We’re not trying to be fancy. We just serve fresh, top quality local seafood at fair prices – the kind of Fish and Chips that people grew up on,” Mr Sehgal told Mosman Collective.

Locals will be pleased to hear there are no gimmicks or inflated prices. Instead, Gold Snapper plans to bring back the kind of old-fashioned, deep-fried items many in Mosman have been craving – including the Battered Sav ($4.50), Chiko Roll ($3), Pineapple Fritter ($3) and Potato Scallop ($1.50).

Mosman’s Gold Snapper menu offers all your favourites, including Battered Savs and Potato Scallops.

“Healthier options are also available, and we will be grilling fresh fish, octopus, prawns and calamari,” Mr Sehgal said.

News of this weekend’s opening has already sparked fresh hope that 904 Military Rd – a shopfront with decades of fish and chip history – has finally found its perfect match.

“It’s about time someone got it right,” one resident said. “We’ve all got memories of the Blue Dolphin. If Gold Snapper can bring back even half that vibe, they’ll be packed every weekend.”

Menu Highlights:

Fried Calamari $9 (x6)
Prawn Cutlet $17.50 (x6)
Fish & Chips $13 (single pack)
Grilled Fish $9
Grilled Snapper $15
Oysters Kilpatrick $22 (x6)
Battered Fish Burger $12
Lobster Roll $24
