If you’re craving a top-notch lunch without the hefty price tag this winter you’re in luck, thanks to one of Mosman’s most celebrated dining spots dishing up an irresistible weekday deal.

For a limited time, Public Dining Room is offering a $39 lunch special from Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays), complete with a complimentary glass of wine – and that priceless view of Balmoral Beach.

The seasonal menu, designed by head Chef Adam Tyl, includes a choice of three carefully curated dishes that showcase bold, Modern Australian flavours:

• Slow Poached Trout Salad with crispy kale, leek, sweet potato, bergamot and honey dressing, finished with a squid ink rice crisp.
• O’Connor Black Angus Steak Sandwich, loaded with chipotle, dark ale eschalot jam, semi-dried tomatoes, buffalo brie, smoked BBQ mayo and served with golden chips.
• Risotto with smoked pumpkin, sage, burnt butter and shaved parmesan.

Guests can pair their meal with a glass of 2023 Barking Hedge Sauvignon Blanc, 2021 Esquinas de Argento Malbec, beer, sparkling/still mineral water or a soft drink. Dessert is available for an extra $19.

The Public Dining Room deal is one of several winter specials heating up the lower north shore.

Me-Gal, the stunning harbourside restaurant inside the Wildlife Retreat at Taronga Zoo, is offering a $50 two-course lunch Thursday to Sunday. Diners can choose between:

• Bannockburn Free Range Chicken Breast with farro and gremolata
• Farro Risotto with gremolata and house-made sauerkraut

All meals include a side of butter lettuce with mustard dressing and barrel-aged feta, finished with coffee and a petit four.

Other venues serving up winter warmth include Ormeggio, Ripples Chowder Bay, and Chiosco, each offering seasonal menus designed to delight … without breaking the bank.
