If your kids love fire trucks, this is a must do local event.

Sydney fire stations will open their doors for the NSW Fire and Rescue Open Day this Saturday.

Mosman Fire and rescue officers will open their doors to the community this weekend.

Mosman, Crows Nest and Willoughby stations will be open from 10am to 2pm, offering a range of free activities for kids, including firefighting demonstrations, station tours and safety presentations.

Families can get up close to the fire trucks and rescue equipment, and chat to local firefighters about the simple steps they can take to ‘BE FIRE SAFE’ this winter.

Informing locals on the importance of working smoke alarms will be a major focus of the 2025 Open Day.

NSW Emergency Services Minister Jihad Dib told Mosman Collective the special event is a rare chance to see how our local stations operate.

“Open Day is a wonderful opportunity to get behind-the-scenes access to NSW fire stations and understand the work our firefighters do to keep our communities safe,” he said.

FRNSW Station Officer Rory Fegan said working smoke alarms will be a major focus of the 2025 Open Day.

“People cannot smell smoke when they are asleep, so having a working smoke alarm is crucial,” he said.

“When a fire takes hold, every second counts. In less than 30 seconds, a small flame can turn into a major fire.”

If your kids love fire trucks, this is a must-attend, hands-on, FREE family activity!

Station Officer Fegan said local firies will also provide advice on lithium-ion batteries.

If you can’t make the Open Day but would like a personalised “Fire Safety” visit from our local Fire and Rescue Crews, please note they are FREE of charge.

“Local firefighters will visit your home, provide tailored fire safety advice, test your smoke alarm, and will even replace it for free if necessary,” FRNSW Commissioner Jeremy Fewtrell said.

Mosman, Crows Nest and Willoughby stations will be open from 10am to 2pm.
