Thousands of public school students across the lower north shore are returning to upgraded classrooms and grounds, following improvements delivered through the state’s infrastructure program.
More than $200 million was spent across NSW during the summer break, with $3.3 million worth of maintenance and refurbishment granted to local campuses.

“Projects include accessibility improvements, freshly painted walls, refreshed outdoor areas, repaired walkways and other essential works to ensure clean, safe and welcoming environments for staff and students,” a spokesperson for NSW Education told Mosman Collective.
Beauty Point Public School has received a new perimeter security fence and grounds maintenance, while Neutral Bay Primary School grounds have been freshened up with garden beds and painting works.

Across NSW, the summer school maintenance program included:
- $36 million for painting works
- $28 million for upgraded bathrooms and amenities
- $21 million for flooring projects
- $14 million for accessibility improvements
- $12 million for roof repairs or replacements
- $2.4 million for specialist classrooms upgrades
“Whether it’s with new paint and flooring, upgraded bathrooms, vital repairs or accessibility improvements, we are ensuring our schools have quality facilities so every student can access a world-class public education,” the spokesperson said.
