By ANNA USHER
A gardener is fighting for his life after falling six metres on Parriwi Rd this morning.
The man, aged in his 50s, is believed to have been leaning on a fence which gave way at 7:30am.
Emergency services say the man landed between a wall, a car and trailer, leaving him with severe head and chest injuries.
NSW Ambulance Inspector David Lambert said crews faced some difficulty getting to the man at the scene.
“Paramedics were faced with a complex case as the patient had fallen between a wall and a parked car which made it difficult to both assess and extricate him from,” Insp Lambert said in a statement.
“Paramedics and NSW Police worked well together to extricate the man who received life-saving interventions before being transported in a critical condition to Royal North Shore Hospital.”
“This morning’s incident is a good reminder that accidents can happen at any time with little to no warning, please be careful when working at heights.”
The man was rushed to Royal North Shore Hospital with a police escort, where he remains in a critical condition.
