Lower north shore residents turned out in their thousands to commemorate Anzac Day in Mosman and North Sydney on Tuesday.

At least 1000 attended the Dawn Service held at St Leonards Park, with another 2000 standing shoulder-to-shoulder at Georges Heights Parade Ground to mark the 108th anniversary of the first Gallipoli landing.

Defence personnel, local volunteers, school representatives, dignitaries and community members stood silently at 5:30am to pay their respects to the fallen in chilly conditions.

Mosman Collective photographer Graham Monro from gmphotographics was there to capture all the action.

Lower north shore students from Mosman Public, Middle Harbour Public, Neutral Bay Public, Wenona, Shore, Queenwood, Cammeraygal, Marist and Loreto layed wreaths at the two early morning ceremonies, alongside sporting clubs including Mosman Rugby Club and North Sydney Cricket Club.

A gunfire breakfast, including bacon and egg rolls, proved popular at many early-opening cafes, with Mosman RSL welcoming patrons from 7am.
