Mosman photographer Suzanne Stevenson is taking stunning images of local dogs – and she wants your pooch!

A local photographer has found a clever way to beat the boredom of isolation during the Coronavirus pandemic, capturing stunning images of local pooches, for a community initiative with Mosman Collective.

“Lola” the Cavoodle is just one of the local dogs captured by Mosman photographer Suzanne Stevenson.

After weeks of being confined to her home, Mosman photographer Suzanne Stevenson is using her artistic talents to connect the community, during this time of self-isolation and quarantine.

Until recently, the mum of two was busy with a thriving business of family portraiture, when her bookings dried up due to Covid-19.

“With families now stuck at home almost 24/7, I wanted to do something positive while in lockdown,” she tells me, “it’s a nice way to use my skills – and get some exercise at the same time.”

For the past week, Suzanne has carried her camera on daily walks around Mosman, capturing the faces of our local pooches while following correct social distancing procedures.

“There are so many local dogs spending more time at home and I love seeing their faces at the fence when I walk by,” she says, “so I decided to start snapping these little moments during this crazy moment in history.”

“Dogs on their Doorstep” is the name of Suzanne’s stunning new project, which captures local hounds in their front yards, before being shared with a wider audience on Mosman Collective.

Suzanne is donating her time (and the photos) for free and says the casual shoot takes just five to ten minutes, on the front doorstep, the veranda or in the garden.

“I’ve been inundated with requests and am now taking photos of dogs each day,” she says, “it’s a fun thing to do and I guess it’s nice for people to have a happy memory of a pretty dark time in history.”
