One of Mosman’s largest estates is set to be demolished and replaced with a 10-bedroom mansion, council records reveal.
Australian billionaire investor Greg Coffey and his wife Ania are set to spend $14 million on their family compound known as Merdjavoun, on Kirkoswald Ave.

Documents submitted show the Coffey’s want to build a palatial residence over four-levels on the 3,158sqm site, with 10 bedrooms, a “wellbeing space”, a library, home theatre, swimming pool with a pool pavilion, multiple outdoor terraces, spacious landscaped gardens and separate accommodation for guests and staff.
“The overall design of the development is compatible with the desired future character of Mosman and fosters an improvement to the quality of the built and natural environment which is compatible with the neighbouring dwellings,” planning documents state.
The proposed cost of the development is expected to be more than $14.8 million.

Neighbours have been informed of the Development Application, with submissions open until February 5.
Neighbours were informed of the proposed development last week, with submissions open until February 5.
Records show the Coffeys purchased the existing home in December 2005 for $11.8 million.
In 2017, they snapped up an adjoining property on Burran Avenue for $2.5 million.
