Community Choir: Local shower singers needed for Christmas Carols at the Rotunda – no experience needed!
By ANNA USHER
Hark – it’s not just the Angels who will be singing at Balmoral Rotunda this Christmas!
The call is out for local resident’s keen to form a Community Choir this festive season, and you don’t have to be an experienced warbler to join.
“We’ll accept shower singers, car singers and Karaoke singers for the annual Carols at the Rotunda event,” Ian Minnett from Mosman Village Church said.
“We are changing things this year and would love the community to be involved.
“You don’t need to audition, there is no need to read music, no prior experience is needed, apart from a willingness to have fun,” Mr Minnett said.
Mr Minnett said he would like to see 50 singers and “about a dozen musicians” aged over 18 to join the Community Choir.
“The focus for us this year is to make Carols at the Rotunda a night to remember, and our singers will have a new way to connect with each-other and the community,” he said.

Mr Minnett will host a special information night for anyone interested in joining the Choir on Tuesday 15 August at 7:30pm. Supper will be provided and anyone with a portable instrument (flute, violin, clarinet etc) is encouraged to come along.
“The plan is to have rehearsals on Thursday nights from mid-November and we are keeping the Community Choir as an Adults group (for now), so the only condition is that members must be over-18,” he said.
