A Chatswood man is $2.6 million richer after winning the Saturday Lotto.

A Chatswood man has admitted to wandering the streets of Chatswood in a daze after his trip to get the morning newspaper revealed his $2.6 million Saturday Lotto win.

The lucky North Shore resident held one of the two division one winning entries in Saturday Lotto draw 4389, drawn Saturday 12 August 2023 and took home $2,688,246.93.

The man purchased his ticket at a Chatswood Interchange news agency.

“I’ve never experienced anything like this before, it’s mind-blowing!” the winning man exclaimed when an official from The Lott called to confirm his incredible win.

“It still hasn’t hit me!

“It was meant to be a normal Sunday! I ran down to get the paper yesterday morning and decided to check my entry while I was there.

“I’m not really sure what happened next if I’m honest.

“I realised I’d won something big, so I checked the numbers again and then just wandered the streets.

“I was so shocked!”

The man has admitted to wandering the streets of Chatswood in a daze after his trip to get the morning newspaper.

The elated winner said the win was “life changing”, but confessed he wasn’t sure what to use the money for until his comprehends the magnitude of his good fortune.

“Obviously it’s amazing but I need more time to wrap my head around this,” he laughed.

“It’s going to potentially set me up for an earlier retirement, but I could also just cut back and work part-time if I wanted to.

“I’ll also look into buying a unit for myself and investing for the future.

“I’m most excited about the fact that I can travel wherever and whenever I feel like now!

“I already had a trip booked overseas for the end of the year and I’m going to extend that for a few more months now.

“I’m so excited for what the future holds!”

“I’ll look into buying a unit for myself and investing for the future,” the man said.

The winning ticket was purchased at Chatswood Interchange Newsagency, Shop 31A Chatswood Interchange, 432 Victoria Road, Chatswood.

Chatswood Interchange Newsagency owner Ms Louise Geng said the team were over the moon for their winning customer and wished them all the best for the future.

“We’re all so excited to have sold a division one winning entry and it’s magnificent news for our customers and the entire community,” she said.

“It’s been a few years between division one wins for us so we can’t wait to celebrate with our customers in the weeks to come.

“We’d all like to wish our winner the best of luck for the future and hope they enjoy their prize.”

The winning numbers in Saturday Lotto draw 4389 on 12 August 2023 were 10, 5, 30, 32, 42 and 34, while the supplementary numbers were 45 and 19.

Across Australia, there were two division one winning entries in Saturday Lotto draw 4389 – One each in New South Wales and Western Australia.

The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 248 so far in 2023, including 81 won by NSW Lotteries customers.
